Happy Hacktoberfest! We’re excited that our month-long celebration of open-source projects, their maintainers, and the entire community of contributors is underway. And we have lots to celebrate from September, with new enhancements to the DigitalOcean App Platform and the new monitoring tool DigitalOcean Uptime. Learn more about the key product features for your favorite offerings, including DigitalOcean Droplets, App Platform, serverless, and more.
Supercharge your app builds
The DigitalOcean App Platform now builds apps in nearly half the time and also supports local builds that are even faster than building remote. Local builds often take seconds and easily integrate with your CI/CD pipeline. For further automation, App Platform can redeploy your app when you push a new image to the DigitalOcean Container Registry.
By using trusted sources for connection pools, you can now further secure your PostgreSQL databases and easily connect from a specific app. Learn more about PostgreSQL connection pools in the App Platform.
Introducing DigitalOcean Uptime
Empower yourself with DigitalOcean Uptime, which enables you to determine if your services are available and responsive from an external user’s perspective. DigitalOcean Uptime alerts you when your assets are slow, down, or vulnerable to SSL attacks. One free check is available per month for any DigitalOcean account.
DigitalOcean Functions now supports multiple namespaces so you can isolate and organize your functions by project, environment, region, or any other grouping you need to develop.
We added a CPU-Optimized Droplet plan with 48 vCPUs of dedicated computing power and 96 GB of memory. The new 48 vCPU Droplets are also available for DigitalOcean Kubernetes nodes. You can also resize your existing Droplets to this node plan.
Kubecon is quickly approaching and we have exciting announcements coming. Don’t miss it! Find our booth here or book an appointment now—you may even qualify for two free months of DigitalOcean.
